My Profile

Working together for better outcomes

I work with a variety of people at different stages of their lives, both in a professional and personal context.

I am an intuitive coach, who offers light and warmth, support and challenge in my coaching. I like to support clients during their professional lives to help them to connect with who they are and how this can be embodied in work.  I am passionate about learning and believe that regular and honest self-reflection is key to this. It is the foundation of my own on-going personal and professional self-development.

Background

I worked for the Church In Wales for 16 years ( 1992 until 2008) as a University Chaplain, Hospital Chaplain, Parish Priest, Bishop’s Chaplain, Communication’s Officer and In-service trainer. Since then I have continued to work in the Third Sector in Wales in a number of different leadership and management roles. I am a specialist in learning and development and in participation and engagement and have an interest in mental health issues, particularly mental health and well-being in the workplace. I have worked for Cartrefi Cymru and Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA), where I was Head of Business Development, Consultancy and Learning and managed Participation Cymru. I currently works as Chaplaincy and Community liaison Manager at Swansea University and have my own coaching business. I have volunteered as a mentor with Women’s Education Network and am currently a trustee for MIND Pembrokeshire and MIND Carmarthen.

Coaching style

I take a holistic approach to coaching. My approach and style is determined by the needs of the client, which is always focused on their goals, but is flexible as new information arises and self-awareness increases. Clients have described me as a ‘safe pair of hands’ and I am committed to creating a positive and caring environment in order for the client to get the best out of the session so they can strive to be the best they can be. My extensive experience of offering pastoral care and counselling means I bring a number of disciplines to the coaching environment.

Special interests

I am  interested in all things third sector, and have extensive experience of working in a consultative capacity within the public sector. I am interested in health related coaching, helping individuals manage their own health and well-being and also in enabling health professionals to relate to their patients. I am  particularly versed in mental health issues and Type 1 Diabetes in children and young people.

Qualifications

I am qualified to administer and interpret the Myers Briggs Personality Indicator, have a post graduate qualification in counselling and a post graduate qualification in pastoral care. I am currently studying for ILM Level 7 in Executive Coaching.
